All,

News of Today (based on Email from Olaf/Catalina)

- Still strong winds at Lake E, excluding any work on the ice, however, two more containers have arrived late yesterday. One of those is the physical properties lab of AWI (this container obviously has outpaced all others). The trucks that have delivered the containers, despite the storm, have started again to get more of them to the lake.

- Transport of the containers still in Pevek probably will start tomorrow or in two days.

- Questions arose, whether or not the student translator from Cologne, Vladimir Goette, can fly next week, because he has just received an international Russian passport, but no "domestic" one, which obviously is needed to enter Chukotka as a "Russian". We will check on that here from Cologne, as well as on suggestions made by Catalina for core transport using cardboards available in Bremen from the Potrok Aike drilling project.

Hope there are more positive news the next days ...

Cheers for now

Martin
