All,

News of Today (emails from Chico and Marianna, call with Pavel and Catalina)

- The second party (Pavel Minyuk, Grisha Fedorov, Doug Schnurrenberger, John Joice, James Cranmer, Chris Delahunty, Anders Noren, Catalina Gebhardt, Dietmar Penshorn) has arrived in Pevek. They have passed customs in Moscow without problems, eventually received the 11 pieces of luggage that came delayed on another flight, and made it to the airport just in time. Marianna again made a great job to get rid of this crowd as soon as planned.

- Pevek has awaited the party with -25C, clear skies and stable winds. They are just relaxing from the long trip in one of the lovely Pevek bars.

- The helicopter shift to Lake E is still planned to take place already on Thursday, however, a flight on Monday currently looks more realistic.

- Neither an Email nor a call from Lake E reached me so far -- looks like they are still busy outside. I will send another mail in case something important has happened; otherwise I will provide an update with the News tomorrow.

Cheers for now, Martin

--> Some additions to the situation at Lake E (based on a call with Olaf), following the email sent earlier today:

The bulldozer has operated 10 hrs to clear the ice pad by 3/4.  /  Pumping has started on that part of the pad already cleaned from snow.  /  A helicopter chartered by Gutov has delivered fresh food an some equipment, blankets etc. for the baloks not yet fully operational.  /  Olaf will send a list of baloks later today, allowing us to establish the final "balok plan".  /  Temperature today was -33C, no wind, no clouds.
