News of Today (based on Email from Olaf and Volker, and calls with Grisha, Olaf, and Pavel)
- Due to bad weather, the helicopter did not make it to Lake E. The Pevek Party is in contact with the Pevek airport. The airport is willing to try a flight on Sunday, depending on weather.
- The first three containers have arrived at Lake E. Doug is just checking for their contents. Two more containers are very close to the lake; they likely will arrive tomorrow morning. Pavel, Doug, and Anders plan to join Gutov´s crew on a trip to the containers in the tundra tomorrow, in order to help with their loading and set priorities for their transport.
- Ice thickening work has been continued; in total, they have now spilled 700 to of water on D1 and hope to reach 1.60 m thickness tomorrow.
- The Lake E party uses two additional Iridium phones, since the Walkie Talkies do not work properly when weather is bad, despite the additional antennas. The locations and numbers are
