News of Today (based on Emails from Olaf)
- At Lake E strong winds excluded any work on the ice. Usually, storms are associated with a rise of temperatures to -20 to -30C, this time it kept cold with -36C. Despite these settings, Doug et al. continued to check the content of the first 5 containers that have as yet arrived. Besides the broken heater, which hopefully can be repaired with replacement parts ordered via Julie, nothing serious was found broken or missing so far.
- One additional truck, with fuel, has arrived today.
- In Pevek according to a call of Olaf with Catalina everything is okay, too.
- Everybody is looking forward to better whether, more trucks to arrive at the lake, and the helicopter to make it tomorrow ...
