Lake E Daily News, 5 May 2009
Today was pretty slow moving at Lake E camp. The last containers came off the lake along with the remaining platform sledges. With temperatures up around +4 deg C, the science crew worked to chop the remaining chunks of ice free of the runners so the skid assemblies can be packed into containers tomorrow. We now have an impressive yard of containers here, all lined up in orderly fashion. Pavel Minyuk is busy preparing the inventory and directing people to cleanup work and packing chores. The warm sun also meant there were some long, lingering coffee breaks outside.
In Pevek, the Moscow flight arrived today delivering the Soundprints radio journalists and we expect that Jerry Jensen, Volker Neth and Christian Koeberl are on their way tonight to Moscow.
sincerely, Julie BG
