All,

News of today (based on Emails from Chico and Olaf)

- Last night a snow storm built up at Lake E that today prevented any work on the ice. The party hopes that the snow clearing of the ice pad D1 that commenced yesterday was not totally for nothing. They will see once the weather allows for continuation of the work.

- Time to think and get prepared for the next group arriving in Pevek on Feb. 3:

Grisha Fedorov, Pavel Minyuk, Chris Delahunty, Doug Schnurrenberger, John Joice, James Cranmer, Anders Noren, Catalina Gebhardt, Dietmar Penshorn

One of the party, e.g. Grisha, may stay in Pevek for some time to keep things moving at that end. The remaining party, together with Chico, will possibly take a helicopter flight to Lake E on Thursday 5. Feb. or Monday 9. Feb.

- The next chopper flight may then take place around Febr. 20, taking

Volker Neth, Gary Kozar, Chris Delahunty

back to Pevek to reach their plane to Moscow

Well, our experience shows that this schedule is just a first idea - thinks may change depending on weather, arrival of cargo at the lake and other circumstances.

Lets cross the fingers for favorable weather conditions to get things moving in the next days

Cheers for now

Martin
