All,
today only minor news from Olaf:
- The party was not surprised about the cancellation of the helicopter flight, because the whole day was snowing at the lake
- Snow thickness has increased on the lake ice to 18 - 30 cm, or more in snowbanks; winds from the north made the temperature drop to -20 degrees C
- The convoy with diesel and coal at long last has arrived. So, the "Autobahn" for much quicker shuttles to lake E in the future obviously is built
- The party will send Volker´s and Gary´s tickets with the helicopter (whenever it comes) to Pevek, so that Rita (the translator) can try to change their flights to 24 Feb at the airport (Rieke cannot do that from Germany)
- Volker has sent an ice safety report to Lina Gutova, expecting that this makes Sergey Gutov to allow his drivers to enter the lake ice
- A joint trip with the Ski-doo and Vestehod (to mark the first pad) and some longer discussions in the camp were helpful also to build up relations with the local Russians
