Lake E News of the Day, April 8th
After cleaning the hole over a portion of the night shift, the day shift was on the platform assisting the ICDP OSG group with downhole logging the section from 150 -198.63m. By the end of the day shift, this job was successfully completed. Tonight the drillers tripped out the hole, cleaned the bit and are tripping back down the hole. The night shift will be short tonight as we await the arrival of both the mud container by truck (either tonight or tomorrow) and the Kinross pump by helicopter tomorrow.
Catalina reports that the magnetic susceptibility data for the deeper section today looks great as does the 130 to 150 m section. So with this overlap, it allows us to merge the upper core data with the downhole logging to 200 m with only one or two gaps of 2 meters. So we have nearly the entire 200m section recovered for MS, at least.
