continuation from Daily News, April 30:

Having said all of that, we have a lot to be happy about. A quick summary of what we have:

Hole 1 A, depth of 146.58 m blf with 92% recovery

Hole 1 B, depth of 111.92 m blf with 98% recovery

Hole 1 C, depth of 517.3 m blf with 63% recovery.

Sediments recovered -- 355 m of core to the time of impact at 3.6Ma

Impact and volcanics -- 157 m over a depth interval of 207 m

Project total -- 684.84 m cored, 512.11 m of core collected, for an overall recovery of 75%

So there you have it.  The weather is good here, sunny and -15C, but in Pevek its lousy and visibility is low.   So the helo flight to Pevek for Jerry Jensen, Volker Neth and Christian Koeberl will have to be Monday for sure and we hope the weather is good.  They fly to Moscow on Tuesday.  The rest of us have already started the demob.

I will continue to send out Daily Reports until the last 10 of us  (the cleanup crew) leave Pevek on May 19th.

sincerely, Julie BG et al
