All,

News of today:

Fishing of the twisted pipe last night unfortunately failed.

So, the situation now is as follows:

- We still have enough PQ pipes (for sediment drilling) and HQ pipes (for hardrock drilling) to reach target depths.

- We have 2 HPC for PQ left (they worked fine down to ca. 100 m);

- We have none of the 2 EXN for PQ left (both lost), and probably no possibility to replace them.

- Most problematic, we have none of the BHA (Bottom Hole Assembly) for PQ left, needed to operate the tools. A tube for the BHA is available, but not the bits; they shall be delivered latest with Jerry and Joel in about 2 weeks, if not a quicker transport can be found (we are working on that).

- Taking that, after 1 week coring (March 16-23) we presumably cannot proceed coring for the next 2+ weeks, and then have a maximum of ca. 2 weeks left (or less, if we twist off again) to "complete" the drilling project.

We are currently planning to proceed as follows:

- We are looking for a tricone bit for HQ pipes to be shipped to Lake E as soon as possible. This bit would allow us to penetrate the sediments without coring. The most quick solution would be if the Canadian Gold Mine Company operating close to Pevek has one they can borrow or sell to us. We are working on that.  >> continuation
